This is the first serious tent that we ever bought, after spending a night in a cheapy two man tent - we caught the camping bug, but needed a proper tent.
The Messina is very easy to put up, and once up is very flexible with plenty of room inside. You can have it with the side door open, as shown in the picture here, or you can have the front bit open, and you can even fold back the red side bits. This may not make sense to you, but for the sake of this review, lets just say it is versatile.
Thanks to the tents design there is very little noise when windy, and it feels very planted to the ground. The only thing that we added to the layout was a ground sheet for the porch, as it is only the sleeping quarters that comes with an in-built groundsheet. This was simple and inexpensive to rectify, and also gives us the added flexibility whither to have it or not.
A ventilation hole at the top is very useful for those summer days, but also doesnt let too much cold air in when its blowwing a gail. The tent holds up very well to the wet scottish weather, and as yet, we have not had a leak.
There are inside pockets to store your valuables whilst sleeping, and the mosquito net is very handy in the summer.
This tent is excellent value, and we have enjoyed camping with it for the past two years, and hopefully many years to come.

The Messina 300 is the ideal combination in a tent giving a spacious domed inner combined with a generous porch for stowing gear and provisions, quick and easy to erect yet reassuringly stable in high winds, and warm and dry in bad weather. The two entrances, one at the front,one at the side, permit variations in the use of the porch.
